Travel from Ulaanbaatar:
Flights depart from Ulaanbaatar every day to Choibalsan city taking around 4 hours. From here you can travel in any direction into the steppe.
Driving takes around 2 days on reasonable roads. When you arrive at the steppe the roads will degenerate as you drive into the wilderness
Advice :
Take everything you will need with you as there are very few shops outside of the city.
You will need comfortable shoes that you are happy to walk long distances in but that are also suitable for horse riding.
Make sure to take a sleeping bag, tent and warm, windproof clothing.
