You will be taken on the short journey north to the Mongolian Secret History Travel complex where you will spend the night. As you are arriving in the morning we will organize a full day tour of the area taking in stunning scenery, a visit to a local nomadic family and a short hike to a sacred shaman site where you will be able to participate in a simple ritual to bring you luck on the rest of your journey. We will also take a trip to Purevbat Llama’s temple near the camp which is a stunning example of avant-garde Buddhist architecture and landscaping and completely unique. We recommend staying overnight at the Mongolian Secret History Complex but, if you prefer, then we are happy to arrange for you to spend the night with a local nomadic family who will be delighted that you chose to stay with them and will provide you with a unique and unforgettable experience on your first night in our beautiful country.

Day 3 Terelj Gorkhi National Park (2 hours drive on good roads)

The following morning you will journey to Terelj national park to the East of Ulaanbaatar. This park was once a meeting place for Chingis Khaan’s forces when they returned from their campaigns and empire building. To reach the park you will drive across the river Tuul and enter a landscape of enormous rocky cliffs, lush river valleys and dark green pine forests. This is one of the most striking areas of Mongolia and is an enormously popular location for hiking, horse riding or, for the more adventurous traveller, rock climbing and caving. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp.
